OSAMA BIN DADDY

He sees that lady, that woman who drives him crazy
Love drunk and scared with sweat dripping down his pants
How do I approach a drop-dead-gorgeous damsel this fine?
Walks up to her, chest puffed out, beards trimmed and acting all friendly
Your face looks familiar is the common pick up line
"Excuse me please"...Cinderella replies
He won't bulge though stammering for words
She comes to his aid and decide to help him out
Dinner's great and he isn't that bad
Two birds just got signed into the love industry

Letting each other's exes go find nemesis
They head for the altar to claim their marital blessing
Years get clocked on the watch and the story seem to change
The sweet testosterone now has a strange taste
Of late, mama's food is anything but great
Pressure lights him up when there are bills to pay
He finds every little thing to lash a complaint
Coming home to his kids after many days on a long trip
Daddy's home, the alarm beeps and they scamper for safety
Agege rat doesn't have to be guilty to be on its heels
No way on earth can any temple run be as real as this
One snatches a book off the shelf and feigns study.... God help you, stories are its content !
The other dashes for the bed and pretends to be asleep for years
Betrayed by a racing heart and a wet forehead
An epilepsy-inducing, resounding, dirty slap cuts short sleeping beauty's 100 years target
Who born you well go siddon dey watch T.V?
Especially when mumsy dey busy for inside kitchen
Bin Daddy then proceeds to the living room
The atmosphere is tense and the ground about to move
Whooooooooooo touched the remote? Whooooo broke the turn table?
By now, hearts are audibly heard pounding
"Go and bring your books" and kasala bursts
You know you're done for if you came home scoring zero
Its one of those days you really need that Christ you're taught about in church
But times like this in a kid's life seem to always find Him on sabbatical leave
I guess sunday school punishment makes a youngster think he's a strong man
Until Papa's strikes from above plays him wrong mehn
'Odechi' speedily disappears from the lips
Snake dance to the tune of the stinging apala beats begin
Targeted spots on the back beyond the hand's reach
Like an amateur rapper on his first beat,
The wails skip the lips and return after several minutes
Beatings to fainting point in the name of discipline
Some times, a nurse have to come stitch the cut that missed the brain
Its mostly frustrations well masked behind correction
You can't do anything right is a common say
Thou art nothing but a bunch of disgrace
Kids like this often have their self esteem snatched away
Destroyed by words from their tender little age
I bet they gladly prep your bag at the hint of a journey
And pray your car breaks down so you don't return early
Thanks to the neighbours who often come to bail
At this point, its hard not to doubt one's D.N.A
Teachers aren't innocent of these brutal strikes
Whippings to stupor finds one staggering like a drunk
High on this crazy tonic and you can barely find your desk
How does one learn arithmetics without fear eliminated first?
Its hard enough for the lad who already doubts his own academic success
Sometimes,'You can do it', is all that needs to be said
But the fear of that rod is a constant threat
Thinking back as an adolescent,
A teacher gets to teach a subject while we learn them all
Without that lies no promise of graduation
Who dares question the system? That's the way it goes
How about we just pause and reminisce?
How about raising kids who fear to hurt you 'coz they truly love you?
They get sad when you plan to travel
Hot on your heels as you make to take your leave
How about raising them in love without sparing the rod?
How about coming home to teens who long to talk to you and not hide in fear?
Have you noticed, that brutal physical abuse hardly returns them to your desired factory setting?
Have you noticed how helpless you are when they eventually build resistance to the pain?
It often breaks your heart to see them present the cane themselves coz' its all you ever do
That's the right time to acknowledge a failed tact and take a break
But a typical African parent blames evil birth and cursed semen
Have you noticed they'd rather talk to friends than talk to you?
Why blame them? Its fear at home and worse at school
Great young women have strayed this way 'coz mama never understood the game
Wrong advise from big girls and the rest?
Regret in painful tears from wasted years!
Have you noticed how much you know less till you hear them speak?
All you see is juvenile delinquents and thorns in the flesh
Well, its difficult not to go crazy after those long doses of emotional pain
Growing up is not that easy so they smoke a joint to take the pain out
You don't have to kill your dream my dear, there's a way out
Mama never listens, Papa's always busy
Stuck together in the car and the distance is still vivid
Its time to question the technique that leads to this
Dear Lord, when are we ever gonna learn?
Turn on the T.V and see the latest release
Suicidal notes on the pages of our screens, my God !
Young teens well versed in poetry, its messed up !
And they say everything is alright but that's a lie
Many future Generals have shooked and died
Loosing the fight to cracked guts hanging by ruthless twines
Its now clear that the tacts are obsolete and times have changed
Osama Bin Daddy, its ok to try a new way !
